Introduction

On this day before Valentine’s Day we are going to talk about hearts…in a different way.  At the age of 30 Kelly Perkins led an active lifestyle. She had married her college sweetheart Craig and was working in Southern California.  In 1992 she was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. A virus she caught had infected her heart.  Just before complete heart failure Kelly received a heart transplant. At this point; you would think that she would take it easy after that, but no, not Kelly! She went on to return to mountain climbing throughout the world; bringing attention to organ donation with each climb.  I would like to welcome a truly Amazing Women… Kelly Perkins
